The Syracuse Microd Club is just that, it’s a club. To keep costs down and keep the club alive, we ask that all members work job assignments throughout the year, rather than spending money to hire the job out. Each family has a set number of jobs to work to ensure we can run our events off in a smooth manner. We are there for the kids to have a fun, safe and efficient race event.
Set up: As members arrive at the track we will setup the facility for the racing event. The crash cart must be put out, the flag raised, lap counter set up and liners placed in the trash cans. Many hands make light work!
Concession: Each family must man the concession stand to cook and serve food to all our hungry race patrons. The menu includes easy to cook foods such as hotdogs and hamburgers. We also offer french fries, drinks, ice cream and more! Any experienced member of the club can help you learn the necessary items to run the concession stand.
Race Director: This person is in charge of the racing event on the track. You will be in radio communication with the tower and you make all racing related calls, such as who was involved in a crash, is the lineup correct and more. The tower will assist in making decisions and will guide newer race directors. The tower has a copy of the rule book with them…there is no need for you to memorize or know everything!
50/50: Kids love working this position. Selling 50/50 tickets at each event. An easy way to turn your dollar into lots of dollars. This is an easy fundraiser for our club and sends someone home with more cash than they came with!
Tear Down: Each week a division is assigned tear down. This includes putting the crash cart away, taking the flag down, putting the lap counter away and emptying the trash cans.
