Secretary Missy Babcock was absent and there were not any minutes from the previous meeting. Betty Wilcox read info from the notes she had taken. Pizza Fund Raiser - Tony hadn't gotten any information. He will try to obtain this by next meeting. Tony stated that he had recieved the forms for "Not for Profit Tax Status". Treasurer Mike darmento will fill these out. Club 50/50 Account - Mike Darmento passed out copies of his report. Pig Roast - Discussion held. It was decided to host this again at our Tour Series Invitational. Need to get particulars for next meeting. We need to ask Bob Forbes about getting a pig and Missy's mother Sue if she would like to do salads for us. Tony will supply soda and Betty will purchase any items needed (paper products, salt potatoes, hamburgers, hot dogs, condiments, rolls, butter, etc). NYSMA plan book rule change inserts are available from Betty. Lug Nut Night - At Kelly's restaurant on Thompson Rd. on Friday and Saturday nights from 5:00 to 10:00 PM. Any microd or 1/4 midget family who would like to show off their car(s) are welcome. A father brought up a situation that occured at the track on the previous Sunday. The driver inadvertently made a mistake. This being their first year and not knowing all of the rules was the reason for the incident. The father realized what happened and took responsibility but what upset him was when another father approached his driver and started yelling thus making the child feel intimidated. He felt that this should not have happened. Discussion was held. Everyone in attendance said that this should not have happened. An adult should never appraoch a driver if there is a problem. The person who is upset should discuss with either the father or the board. This kind of situation needs to be addressed at the next pit meeting. Doug will handle. One of the cars has a bumper covered by sheet metal and there was some concern ovcer this. Since there is not a NYSMA rule regarding this, we cannot do anything about it unless it becomes a safety issue. Next meeting - June 4th at the track Motion to adjourn was made by Rick Zacharias. Seconded by Karl Schartner. Motion carried. |
