Minutes - Wednesday, March 5, 2003
The meeting was called to order by Club President Doug Gwilt at 8:15 PM.
Motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting by Jeanne Ferguson, seconded by Tony Romano.
Motion to accept the financial statement by Rick Zacharias, seconded by Scott Babcock.
Vote to have judges in tower or on the track
Vote - 4 Tower & 11 Track
Vote - on the track - Yes
DISCUSSION:
We will be racing on Saturday, July 19. Tome Wilcox suggested that we invite all previous drivers to this race, creating a type of reunion.
Autograph night will be held on Thursday, July 10.
Doug Gwilt presented Debbie Kosteralos with a gift certificate for her and Jim in appreciation of the wonderful job they did at the Winter Party with the karaoke.
A thank-you card needs to be sent to Kellie at Kellie Marie's Cafe. This would be for the donation of the chicken wings for the winter party.
Check with Lori Wilcox on whether we need feature winner stickers or ribbons.
We are still waiting to hear from Tom Baker with regard to flagging on the tower this year. The backstretch flagger will be Tom Juno Jr. Brian Sobus and Dustin Geers are also interested in flagging. Doug Gwilt is talking to Jane Schartner about being the Race Director again this year.
Jane Schartner would like to have a sign made in memory of Gary Price to hang at the track. She would also like all the kids to sign it. All in attendance agreed.
The hours set for Practice on Race Days are as follows:
Thursday nights: open practice until 6:00 PM, controlled practice 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM, pit meeting at 6:45 PM.
Sunday afternoons: open practice until noon, controlled practice from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM, pit meeting 12:45
A suggestion to be put in the newsletter: Everyone should have their carb checked at tech.
Krispy Kremes will be on sale Saturday, March 29. The Dewitt Wal-Mart will be manned by Darmento's and Romano's; the Clay Wal-Mart by Zacharias', Gwilt's, and Donovan's; the Camillus Wal-Mart by Babcock's, Kosteralos', and Ferguson's.
