January 4, 2006 Microd Meeting
8:00 PM Jim Smith called the meeting to order. Minutes were read and Bob Eastman motioned to accept, 2nd by Andy Fusco.
Andy Fusco motioned to accept the financial statement and was 2nd by Tony Romano.
Old business: Make up DIRT race
There is a proposal to have a tech and fun day on April 9, 2006 and DIRT race make up on April 23, 2006.
Andy Fusco motioned to do so and Rick Zacharias 2nd.
Tom Wilcox Jr. is offering to tech out of club cars on the April 9th fun day.
We had a discussion about the club's race schedule. When all dates are approved by the fair, the new schedules will be sent to you.
There was some discussion about the PA show and Andy Fusco recommends keeping track of who works the booth.
Appointment of race director and flagger.
Ray is our present flagger and has agreed to flag again this year. Andy Fusco motioned we have Ray flag and Lori Wilcox 2nd.
Lori Wilcox nominated Jim Westcott as the race director. Jim accepted and Andy Fusco 2nd.
Congratulations Jim you are our new race director.
Lori Wilcox requests any rule changes be worked on next meeting. NEXT MEETING IS FEB. 1, 2006 at Western Ranch @ 7:00. Please attend.
The job descriptions and how the jobs are gotten are being worked on by Betty Wilcox and Bobbie Jo Eastman.
50th anniversary NYSMA logo is still needed. Jim Smith will talk to Sean about working on the logo. Andy Fusco is volunteering to write something about our track for the 50th anniversary. Any ideas for this are welcome.
We need a lap counter. Jeanne Ferguson asked that we check with BOCES. Jim Smith is going to check with his son and Bobbie Jo Eastman is going to ask the tech teachers at Solvay school. If anyone else has some thoughts come to a meeting. We would be glad to hear them.
Tom Wilcox was talking to the RC car guy that rents the track. He wants to still use the track but with only a few racers, he would like to maintain the grounds instead of payment unless more people come to race and then they would talk about payment.
There was a light discussion about the friendship races. There is some question about insurance on cars and drivers. The cars that run on our track have to run our safety rules.
Tony Romano wanted to thank Bobbie Jo Eastman for a good job on the minutes. We still need a secretary if anyone is interested.
With no more business Rick Zacharias motioned to adjourn and Tom Wilcox 2nd.
