February 4, 2004

Meeting called to Order by President Tony Sobon at 7:49 PM. Motion to accept minutes by Emerson Proctor, 2nd by Mike Ferguson. All in favor (except Rick)

50/50 report was given. Motion to accept Mike Ferguson, 2nd Bob Forbes, all in favor (except Rick again)

Tony Romano will look into the sign. It will be done by the car shows.

Missy Babcock will be in charge of the Winter party to be held on February 20, 2004 at the UAW Union Hall. Bring a dish to pass, Tony Romano will bring soda. Betty Wilcox donated nachos and cheese. It was agreed upon to not get Pizza & Wings. Kostarelos family will supply music. Will check with Union hall to see if we can use TV & VCR.

Motion was made to have a picture book this year and allot $250.00 for copies, etc. by Karl Schartner, 2nd Rick Zacharias. All in Favor.

Pepsi is still looking for the contract. Have not located it yet. Nothing new yet on the $2,000.00 donation from Pepsi.

Question on how the Pit on/Pit off meeting went - they are changing the diagram. The Board will meet to get final changes and get back to the Fair.

NEW BUSINESS
Missy Babcock will check with Top Stitch on Hoodies, Coats for the club. It will not be a fundraiser. Each family will purchase their own. Lori Wilcox will check with A&D embroidery on prices also. Custom Logo was mentioned by they only do silk screen.

Joe Gwilt is still doing our website. He would like to change the domain name. It is a 12 month plan at $14.95 Domain charge and $7.95 per month. Motion was made by Tony Romano to set up the new website, 2nd Scott Babcock, passed - one opposed.

Dave Kimball asked about the possibility of getting Heat Win Stickers. Some kids may never win a feature. Motion was made for Dave to look into& design the stickers by Rick Zacharias, 2nd Emerson Proctor. All in Favor.

A letter was written to the club from Jeanne Ferguson thanking everyone for their support & generosity. It was read aloud by Lori Wilcox

Proposals:
11-01-03 - segmented scrub rails - failed at January State meeting - rule stays the same.
11-02-03 - Electronic Scales - failed
11-03-03 - Scorers must put times of finish of race on score sheets - passed
11-04-03 - Accident occurs on last lap of race - judges must make call - passed.

NEW PROPOSALS:
1-1-04 - Leave rule book in place for 2 years. Reasons: expense, inaccuracies in updating, new members. This excludes safety issues. - 1 yes - 7 no - back to state as 3 NO
1-2-04 - Presently .065 regular steel tubing on frame rails and .050 regular steel tubing are used on roll cages. On open wheel we use regular steel tubing .050 on both frame rails and on roll cages. Propose to make change to use the same material on both when using .050 tubing on either chassis. - 6 yes - goes back to state as 3 YES.
1-3-04 - Add to section 2.7 Infield Safety Rules, only tools and spare parts that can be carried by the handler may be brought into the infield during the race (except starters) - 6 yes - goes back to state as 3 YES
1-4-04 - Add to section 11.0.3 Gear Ratios, Eliminate maximum gear ratios for stock and super stock classes. In these classes a heavy car and driver are at a disadvantage due to gear rules. - 6 yes - goes back to state as 3 YES
1-5-04 - Change open wheel specs of cockpit compartment from 24" to 23" - 4 yes - 3 no - goes back to state as 2 YES & 1 NO

Sodus will be running alcohol on a weekly basis except for the State Race. Anyone running at Sodus weekly must run alcohol.

Fall series - there are only two available dates in September. Motion made to let Board make decision on fall series. Motion was made to run fall races as fun races in lieu of points races by Karl Schartner - 5 yes - 1 no.

Motion was made to file for our own Not for Profit status and let the Quartermidgets file for their own Not for Profit status. We would still run on the same track. - tabled until they talk to Andy Fusco.

Tony Romano will set up a time for Andy Fusco to come and talk to the Board members about the not for profit status.

It was brought up that we could get a 4X8 sign for less than $125.00. It was decided to keep the sign that is being made at $125.00. It was felt we should support club members if they have a business.

Advertising on the softwalls. The club determines the length of the section - $200.00 per section for advertising. $100.00 renewal for the following year

Motion was made to adjourn by Rick Zacharias, 2nd by Mike Ferguson - all in favor. Board only will meet on 2/10/04 at Western Ranch.

Next Club Meeting is March 3, 2004 at Western Ranch.
